Tips I've Learned Along The Way

TREATS THAT YOUR DOG CAN EAT!

Vegetables are great treats to offer your dog. Sweet raw baby carrots, raw broccoli, raw sweet red peppers, pieces of banana, pineapple, pieces of apple or pears, you can experiment and see what you dog likes.
A protein treat can be as simple as baking some beef liver in the oven until crisp. If you are not in the mood to bake, animal bakeries that use all natural ingredients are becoming popular. Maybe your pooch might even share a piece of his cookie with you!

                                                                HEIMLICH MANEUVER FOR DOGS
  1. Turn animal upside down with animal’s back against your chest.
  2. Hug the animal with your fist in hand, just below the rib cage (For cats use 1 hand)
  3. With both arms, give 5 sharp thrusts to the abdomen. Perform each thrust as if it is the one that will expel the object.
  4. Stop, check to see if the object is visible, and if so remove it and give 5 mouth-to-nose rescue breaths. If breaths don’t go in repeat steps again.
                                                                                  FLEA REMEDY

If your puppy has fleas, use Dawn for dishes, rinse well, fill sink, add 1/3 cup vinegar, rinse puppy in vinegar solution and then rinse in plain water. I will then take a little bit of conditioner and gently rub over coat and give a final rinse then rub all over with a towel. This should clear up any problems with fleas. This also works with adult dogs. You might wonder if the Dawn is harsh on the skin, probably more so than puppy shampoo, but it takes care of the fleas and the conditioner puts moisture back in.
